Ibraev noted that in 2017, the reserves reached 19 billion 589 million cubic meters, but in recent years, the water level has significantly decreased. "Why was the available volume not used? The answer is simple: the people responsible for energy were not related to it, such as livestock specialists and financiers. This water could have been used for energy production, but instead, it was simply released to avoid a dam breach," emphasized the minister.
He also added that there is a water shortage in the Kirov and Orto-Tokoy reservoirs.
"This year, temperatures reached 45 degrees, leading to increased electricity consumption for air conditioning and refrigerators," concluded Ibraev.
