According to Euronews, the water level in the reservoirs supplying Tehran has reached a historically low mark. The country's energy minister reported that the pressure in the water supply system could drop to zero during certain nighttime hours, which is linked to the worsening water crisis that has intensified this year.

President Masoud Pezeshkian noted that in several reservoirs serving the capital, less than 10% of the total volume remains. He added that water reserves are at their lowest level in the last six decades.

Tehran, home to more than nine million residents, has been facing drought for the sixth consecutive year. This situation threatens not only the population's access to drinking water but also the operation of hydroelectric power plants that generate electricity.
