Critical situation with water supply in Tehran: reservoirs are depleting
Due to a lack of water, the population of the Iranian capital, Tehran, may face the necessity of evacuation. This was reported by the country's president, Masoud Pezeshkian.
According to TRT World, the main factors contributing to this problem are the rapid decrease in reservoir levels and the lack of precipitation.
Initially, restrictions on water supply are planned to be introduced in Tehran, and in the event of further deterioration of the situation, authorities may consider the possibility of evacuating citizens.
According to various data, the population of Tehran is approximately 14.15 million people as of 2024.
