The minister emphasized that to optimize costs and time, Kyrgyzstan is adopting international standards, avoiding the need to develop its own.
“All the necessary solutions already exist; it is enough to translate and adapt them. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, many norms disappeared, and now the country is using ready-made solutions,” he noted.
According to Oruntaev, the construction of social facilities is progressing at an accelerated pace. Currently, 12 buildings for state institutions are under construction, of which 2-3 are already completed. New office spaces are being opened in the cities of Balakchy, Chon-Alai, and Issyk-Kul.
He also added that construction volumes are at the level of the 1930s-1980s.
The minister mentioned that his Uzbek counterpart, who visited the construction sites, was impressed by the number of cranes at the facilities.
“You are creating a new Kyrgyzstan, and in 1-2 years, you will surpass us,” he quoted his interlocutor from Uzbekistan.
Oruntaev noted that the population growth requires at least 1.5 million square meters of housing each year.
“Currently, the construction of high-rise buildings up to 38 stories is allowed (previously it was 27). We also plan to permit the construction of 40-story buildings. The increase in prices per square meter is a sign of economic growth,” he added.
