The Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan has released a video in which employees of the National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan (NESC) demonstrate the process of disconnecting and sealing equipment involved in cryptocurrency mining.

In the video, specialists can be seen de-energizing the mining installations and placing seals to prevent their reconnection.

Earlier, Energy Minister Talaybek Ibraev announced the need for a complete shutdown of all mining farms in the country due to a shortage of electricity. According to him, such measures will help conserve the water resources of the Toktogul hydroelectric station and ensure stability during the winter period.

The disconnections will remain in effect until the situation in the energy system stabilizes, which, according to the minister, may not happen until spring. The issue is under special control of the leadership of the Ministry of Energy.

The ministry had previously noted that the capacities of mining farms create a significant load on the electrical network, so the temporary cessation of their operations is a necessary measure.
