The Toktogul Reservoir is the largest in Kyrgyzstan and all of Central Asia, covering an area of 284 square kilometers, with an average depth of about 215 meters.

The total volume of the reservoir is 19.5 billion cubic meters, which allows for effective regulation of the multi-year flow of the Naryn River, whose influence extends throughout the Syr Darya basin.

The capacity of the hydroelectric power station is 1200 megawatts.

Along the Toktogul Reservoir, along the Bishkek-Osh highway, several villages are located: Jany-Aryk, Barchyn, Chon-Aryk, Terek-Suu, Jany-Zhol, Kara-Suu, Orto-Kashat, Torken, Kara-Jygach, Sargata, and Uch-Terek.
