Recently, Bakyt Torobaev, the Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, visited a greenhouse farm located in the village of Sheraly in the Uzgen district, as part of the rural administration "Karoool." This information was announced by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan.
During his visit, Torobaev positively assessed the work of the greenhouse farm, emphasizing its importance for the agricultural sector, the implementation of new technologies, and the enhancement of the country's export potential.
“The future of the agricultural sector lies in organic production. Supporting such initiatives will allow Kyrgyzstan to occupy competitive positions in the international market for environmentally friendly products,” noted the minister.
The greenhouse farm, established in 2012, became one of the first producers of organic agricultural products in the region.
The complex occupies 3.3 hectares and specializes in growing tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, lemons, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts. All crops are developed using organic technologies and drip irrigation.
The greenhouse complex is equipped with a coal heating system, and pollination is carried out naturally with the help of bees. Additionally, the territory includes a workshop for vegetable processing, an office of over 100 m², and a compost production area.
The project is being implemented with the support of preferential bank loans.
Since 2021, the enterprise has started processing vegetables, including the production of sun-dried tomatoes and peppers, and from 2023, it began producing high-quality adjika in doypacks and glass jars.
In 2014, as part of the PUM program (Netherlands), a training seminar was held in the greenhouse with the participation of a Dutch expert. Later, the management and staff of the farm underwent training in the Netherlands, where they learned about advanced greenhouse production technologies.
