In the Kara-Suu district of the Osh region, in the village of Kashkar-Kyshtak, a visit was made by the Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev to the branch of the "Southern Regional Soil and Agrochemical Station." This event was reported by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During his visit, the minister emphasized the importance of scientific research for the agricultural sector, noting: “The modern agricultural sector requires accurate scientific data on the state of soils. Thanks to the work of such stations, farmers will be able to use the land more rationally and achieve stable yields.”
This station operates as part of the State Enterprise for Land Management "Kyrgyzgiprozem," which is subordinate to the State Agency for Land Resources, Cadastre, Geodesy, and Cartography under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The main areas of work of the station include:
- conducting soil and agrochemical surveys;
- bonitation and classification of lands;
- land management, cartographic, and geobotanical research;
- laboratory analysis of soil and plant samples.
The activities of the station are aimed at improving soil fertility and effective use of land resources, contributing to the development of sustainable agriculture.
As part of the project "Regional Economic Development in the Osh Region and the City of Osh (RED)," technical re-equipment of the station is being carried out.
From 2023 to 2025, the following activities are planned:
- Repair work amounting to 40,187 US dollars;
- Purchase of laboratory equipment and office equipment amounting to 204,640.77 US dollars.
In addition, by the end of 2025, the delivery of laboratory equipment worth 25,172.23 US dollars is expected.
The expected results from these activities include:
significant improvement of the material and technical base;
enhancement of the quality of laboratory analyses;
accreditation of the station according to international standards.
