Bakyt Torobaev, who holds the position of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Processing, addressed farmers and agricultural workers with an important call: special attention must be paid to autumn work in the fields.

According to information provided by the ministry, the country has 1.25 million hectares of arable land, of which 800 thousand hectares are irrigated and 400 thousand hectares are rain-fed. However, autumn work is progressing extremely slowly, which raises serious concerns.

The current situation is as follows:

- On irrigated lands, autumn plowing and sowing work have been carried out on only 62.2 thousand hectares.

- Moisture accumulation has been achieved on only 16 thousand hectares.

- Out of 800 thousand hectares of irrigated land, only 78 thousand have been processed - less than 10%.

- On the 400 thousand hectares of rain-fed land, work has only been completed on 75 thousand hectares, which is 18%.

Torobaev expressed concern about these results, noting their low level. He also emphasized the instability of climatic conditions: “In spring, there may be insufficient precipitation, and snowfall may also be below normal. This will exacerbate the problem of water shortage. If we do not accumulate moisture now, the harvest in spring will be modest.”

The minister urged farmers to intensify efforts to accumulate moisture, conduct autumn plowing, and create small ditches to retain water, especially on rain-fed lands. “Dear farmers! Your attention to autumn fieldwork is extremely important! Tomorrow may be too late. Winter moisture is the spring harvest,” he emphasized.

It is worth noting that in conditions of climatic instability, moisture accumulation directly affects yield.
