The Ministry of Transport and Communications has shared information about the current status of the project for the reconstruction of the Balakchy — Bokonbaev — Karakol road, which is 141.6 km long.
According to the Ministry's data, construction is currently actively underway on the first 25 kilometers of the road. The commissioning of this section is expected in the near future.
As for the remaining part of the road, from 25 to 141.6 km, its completion is planned for this year.
Thus, the full completion of the reconstruction of the southern part of the road around Issyk-Kul, designated as Balakchy — Bokonbaev — Karakol, is expected in 2026.
