In 5 years, sown areas in Kyrgyzstan have increased by almost 2%, reaching 1.25 million hectares

- From 2020 to 2024, the total area allocated for agricultural crops in Kyrgyzstan increased by 23.1 thousand hectares, corresponding to a growth of 1.9%, reaching 1,246.7 thousand hectares as of 2024. This data was presented in the statistical report.

In 2024, the most significant part of the crops consisted of grain crops (excluding legumes, rice, and buckwheat), occupying 602.9 thousand hectares, which accounts for 48.4% of the total area. Forage crops ranked second with an area of 404.3 thousand hectares (32.4%). Potato crops comprised 66.4 thousand hectares (5.3%), while vegetable crops covered 54.8 thousand hectares (4.4%).

A noticeable increase is observed specifically in the grain sector: compared to 2020, the areas allocated for these crops increased by 29.6 thousand hectares, corresponding to a growth of 5.2%.

In the structure of grains, barley dominates, occupying 41.6% of the total sown area of grain crops.
