According to recent amendments to the KR Code, the responsibility for the illegal import of goods and means of transportation across the borders of EAEU member countries has been significantly strengthened. In particular, fines for individuals have increased from 10,000 to 20,000 soms, and for legal entities from 28,000 to 65,000 soms.

In the case of repeated offenses within one year, fines will increase: for individuals from 20,000 to 40,000 soms, and for legal entities from 65,000 to 100,000 soms. There is also a provision for the confiscation of goods.

The situation at the border has worsened: there have been more cases of goods being imported into Kyrgyzstan without proper accompanying documents. This concerns passenger cars that are trying to avoid control procedures at the goods accounting point "Ak-Zhol," located on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border.

This section is recording attempts to import unaccounted goods, including cosmetics, dietary supplements, medicines, tobacco products, mobile phones, vapes, and electronic cigarettes.

In light of the new amendments to the Code, the Tax Service strongly recommends that all taxpayers comply with the requirements established by law. Adhering to the rules will help avoid administrative liability and fines provided for by current regulations.
