The fat content of milk depends not only on the location of the region but also on the breed of cows, - Deputy Minister Kerimaliev
He noted that official reports usually mention only the Chui, Naryn, Talas, and Issyk-Kul regions, and inquired whether there is information about prices in the Osh region.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture Zhanibek Kerimaliev responded that in the Osh region, the purchase price for a liter of raw milk is 39 soms.
During the discussion, Ergeshov pointed out that in the Chui region, the price ranges from 36 to 47 soms per liter, while in the Naryn region, it ranges from 35 to 36 soms, emphasizing that the Naryn region is a high-altitude area where the fat content of milk is usually higher.
Kerimaliev clarified that the fat content of milk depends not only on climatic conditions but also on the breeds of cows. He explained that milk from purebred livestock has a higher fat content, while that from ordinary commercial cows has lower figures.
The deputy also inquired about the ratio between imported and locally produced dairy products. The deputy minister reported that Kyrgyzstan fully meets its dairy product needs at 127%.
According to his data, the republic exports 100.5 thousand tons of raw milk, while imports amount to about 1 thousand tons.
