At the Ministry of Economic Development, issues of export, attracting foreigners, and the construction of a laboratory were discussed with representatives of the textile industry.

The Deputy Ministers of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, Iskender Asylkulov and Benazir Nurlanova, organized an extended meeting with participants from government bodies and representatives of the sewing industry. This was reported by the press service of the ministry.

This meeting was initiated in accordance with the instructions of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, dated January 21, 2026. The main goal of the event was to address pressing issues in the sewing industry and support the sector focused on social needs.

As a result of the discussions, solutions were developed regarding a number of key issues, including:

- access to financing for logistics corridors;

- improving conditions for product exports;

- attracting foreign specialists;

- creating a modern industry laboratory.

Context of the situation:

According to information from representatives of the sewing industry, starting from September 15, 2025, the Russian side began active inspections of light industry products coming from Kyrgyzstan.

Against this backdrop, businessmen reported the closure of "at least 4–5 thousand sewing workshops." At the same time, this information was denied by representatives of the Cabinet.
