On February 16, 2026, a commission was organized in the village of Ak-Suu to inspect the found carcass of the snow leopard. The commission included B. Abdybekov (hunting supervision), M. Sharshiev (gamekeeper), D. Asylbaev (veterinary management), and N. Karmysakov (investigator of the internal affairs department).
During the inspection, a carcass belonging to a male, who, according to available data, was over 10 years old, was discovered. A visual examination revealed no signs of gunshot or mechanical injuries.
To determine the exact cause of death, the carcass was sent to the National Academy of Sciences in Bishkek.
A video has appeared on the internet showing the snow leopard. It can be seen that the predator is in a yard, looking weakened. The time of filming remains unknown.
