In 2026, applicants wishing to enroll in colleges will be required to undergo the National Testing (ORT). This new requirement was announced at a press conference at the "Kabar" agency.

Dina Bektasheva, acting head of the Department of Higher, Secondary Vocational, and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Science, provided clarifications on this matter.

According to her, changes were made to the education law in 2023.

"According to these changes, only graduates of 11th grades must pass the ORT when applying to secondary vocational education institutions. This rule does not apply to those who have completed the 9th grade," she added.

It is also worth noting that registration for the ORT has already begun: it started on February 17 and will last until April 2. Testing will be conducted from May 16 to May 23.
