Today, February 20, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Adylbek Kasymaliev, visited the Issyk-Kul region to familiarize himself with the implementation of several significant projects in the field of renewable energy, as reported by the government press service.
The first stop of the visit was the village of Toru-Aigyr in the Issyk-Kul district, where he visited a solar power plant under construction by the company OsOO "Bishkek Solar." The head of the cabinet received information about the current stages of construction and the prospects of this facility on special stands. According to representatives of "Bishkek Solar," the project is 80% complete. Initially, it was planned to finish it in 36 months, but thanks to effective work, the timeframe was reduced to 24 months.
The planned annual electricity generation will be 600 million kWh. The investment in the project is expected to reach 280 million US dollars by February 2027. The first phase with a capacity of 100 MW is scheduled to be commissioned in August 2026, while subsequent phases will be in August 2027.
Adylbek Kasymaliev also learned about a project being implemented by the Vietnamese company "Rox Energy Global" in the village of Kyzyl-Oruk in the Issyk-Kul district.
The construction of the solar power plant "Issyk-Kul-1" started in September 2025. This large project has a total capacity of 1,900 MW and investments of 1.4 billion US dollars. The station is expected to produce 3.6 billion kWh of environmentally friendly electricity annually. The project includes three phases: the first - 150 MW, the second - 450 MW, and the third - 1,300 MW. The completion of the entire "Issyk-Kul-1" complex is planned for 2028.
During his visit, the Prime Minister noted the activity of investors and the dynamics of project implementation.
"Seeing such a high dynamics of project implementation in such a short time is pleasing to the eye. This is a clear example of effective cooperation between the state and the investor. The Cabinet of Ministers is ready to provide all necessary conditions and support for investors who want to invest in the economy of the country, whether it be projects in the field of energy, infrastructure, or agriculture," summarized Adylbek Kasymaliev.
