In the Issyk-Kul region, construction and installation work is actively continuing on the implementation of the "Bishkek Solar" solar station project. Ruslan Dalenov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Development Bank, shared current news with journalists.

According to him, the total cost of the project is 180 million dollars, and the funding is fully provided by the EDB's resources. So far, 117 million dollars have already been allocated, and the expenditure of funds is proceeding strictly according to schedule.

The project consists of two phases: the first phase includes the installation of a capacity of 100 megawatts, while the second phase will add another 200 megawatts. All necessary permits for the first phase have already been obtained, and work is actively underway. Meanwhile, for the second phase, the conclusion of the state expertise is expected, which will allow construction work to begin. According to preliminary data, the completion of the first phase is planned for 2026, noted Ruslan Dalenov.

It is worth mentioning that back in 2021, the Ministry of Energy announced its intention to build a solar station on an area of 62 hectares in the vicinity of the village of Toru-Ayghyr in the Issyk-Kul region. At that time, a memorandum was signed with the company "Bishkek Solar," but the project did not progress. In May 2024, the EDB, in partnership with the LLC "Bishkek Solar," signed a cooperation agreement for the financing and implementation of the project, and it was then announced that the launch of the facility is planned for the end of 2025.
