CASA-1000 remains an important project in the energy sector of Central Asia

After its launch, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan will be able to earn up to 250 million dollars annually


The CASA-1000 project continues to be significant in the energy sector of Central Asia, receiving substantial funding. At a recent meeting in Islamabad, the discussion of this project took center stage in negotiations between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan.

The total cost of implementing CASA-1000 exceeds 1.2 billion dollars. The project is expected to allow the export of up to 5 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Work in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan has already been completed, while the completion of the Pakistani section is scheduled for the end of 2025, and the Afghan section for 2027.

According to estimates from the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan, this project will generate revenue of up to 250 million dollars per year for both republics.
