In Kyrgyzstan, the construction of solar power plants is planned in 1000 villages<{short}>Turmush — Kamchybek Tashiev, the chairman of the State National Security Committee and deputy chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, announced the intention to install solar power plants with a capacity of 1 megawatt in 1000 villages of Kyrgyzstan during a meeting with residents of the Kemin district.

Tashiev noted that there is a significant shortage of electricity in the country, which has resulted from increased consumption. “Currently, there is a rise in electricity consumption due to active construction and the opening of new enterprises. When we came to power, the demand was 2 billion kilowatt-hours, and now it is 4 billion. Although the production volume has increased from 15 billion to 19 billion kilowatt-hours, it is still not enough,” he emphasized.

To address this issue, Tashiev held negotiations with investors, resulting in an agreement to create solar power plants in large villages. These stations will be able to provide the population with electricity for 5-6 hours a day, and at night for 2 hours. Thus, for 7-8 hours a day, electricity will be supplied from solar energy,” he added.

In addition, according to Tashiev, the construction of six large hydropower plants has begun in the Chatkal district. “We know which rivers flow in Chatkal, and we will use this resource for electricity generation,” he concluded.
