At a meeting with the residents of Kemin, Kamchybek Tashiev noted that over 30 years of operation, "Kumtor" contributed $100 million to the state budget, and during the period of external management from 2021 to 2025, this amount increased to $1 billion.

Tashiev expressed bewilderment regarding the extent of damage caused to the state. "Canadian investors managed the gold extraction, carried out its export themselves, providing inaccurate data on the volumes produced, which our officials recorded. This happened because they were getting their share," he explained.

According to the head of the GKNB, upon taking office, the main goal for Japarov was to regain control over "Kumtor".

"We achieved this in a year, despite skepticism claiming that it was impossible and that investors could not be touched. Now taxes are coming in, and 'Kumtor' is fully functioning for the benefit of Kyrgyzstan," Tashiev added.

He also reminded of the legislative requirement that at least 30% of the developed deposits must belong to Kyrgyzstan.
