At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, held on February 25, 2026, deputy Meder Chotonov raised an important issue regarding the low procurement price of beans.
He noted that farmers from the Talas region are facing financial difficulties, which are a consequence of years of neglect of this problem.
Chotonov also proposed to maintain the irrigation water tariff at 250 soms per hectare, in order to avoid increasing the financial burden on agricultural producers ahead of the spring work.
These issues arose during the discussion of the candidacy of Erlis Akunbekov for the position of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic.
