On the air of the radio, the chief specialist of the National Statistical Committee for statistical censuses and geoinformation systems, Baktybek Orozbaev, shared information about the preparation for the agricultural census scheduled for 2026.

“It has been about 22–23 years since the last census was conducted. In 2002–2003, this procedure was carried out in two stages: first, crop production was analyzed, and then livestock. During this time, significant changes have occurred,” Orozbaev noted.

He also emphasized that official statistical data often do not reflect the real situation in agriculture. “Some areas registered as arable land have long been used for perennial crops. At the same time, other perennial crops have been uprooted and are now used as arable land. Many lands have already been allocated for residential construction,” he explained.

In addition, the specialist noted that modern technologies are actively being implemented in agriculture.

“Producers are using new equipment, modern fertilizers, and chemicals, as well as ensuring the storage of products and chemicals in their own warehouses. Only such a census will provide reliable information for the development of the agricultural sector and attracting investments,” Orozbaev concluded.
