- There is a misunderstanding regarding meat pricing between farmers and consumers, which requires the establishment of a transparent system for the entire process from production to sale. This was stated on the radio by Bakyt Mamytkanov, president of the "Kyrgyz Meat" association and an expert in livestock farming.

According to Mamytkanov, farmers feel that meat is purchased from them at too low prices, while consumers claim that the market price of meat is significantly inflated.

“To be honest, farmers believe that intermediaries play too large a role. On one hand, they are convinced that meat is bought from them at undervalued prices. On the other hand, consumers complain about the high price that does not correspond to the cost price. This leads to misunderstanding,” he noted.

He added that one of the tasks of the discussed project is to create transparency at all stages—from feeding animals to final sale. All expenses and stages should be available for analysis.

Mamytkanov also emphasized that for a sustainable business in meat production and sales, it is necessary to work on its development, as meat is a strategically important product in the long term.

In his opinion, with the growth of the population, the demand for meat will increase, so the development of livestock farming and finding solutions for stable supplies to the domestic market should be priority tasks right now.
