Jewelers will be given preferential loans for equipment and the opportunity to purchase gold at a reduced price, - head of the State Tax Service
At the direction of the president, the Cabinet of Ministers has developed a number of measures aimed at supporting and developing the jewelry sector.
Among the key innovations is the ability for companies engaged in the production of jewelry to purchase gold at a price 2% lower than the quotes on the London exchange.
These gold supplies will be made without prepayment, with a six-month payment deferral.
Additionally, according to the instruction of Sadyr Japarov, state banks will begin issuing loans to jewelers for the purchase of specialized equipment at an annual interest rate of 6%. This loan will also have a grace period of 180 days during which interest payments will not be charged.
“The combination of preferential access to gold and favorable lending conditions will create excellent opportunities for the growth of domestic jewelry companies,” emphasized Shykmamatov.
According to him, the innovations should lead to the creation of new jobs, an increase in export volumes, and strengthening Kyrgyzstan's position in the international jewelry trade arena, he added.
“The state is ready to continue supporting entrepreneurs engaged in gold processing and jewelry production in the country. I am confident that effective cooperation between business and government will make the jewelry industry one of the driving forces of Kyrgyzstan's economy,” concluded A. Shykmamatov.
