In Kyrgyzstan, a new mechanism for preferential financing is being created, which will promote the implementation of drip and sprinkler irrigation. This was announced by Turatbek Idrisov, head of the Department of Crop Production, Horticulture, and Cooperation of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, on the radio.

Idrisov noted that special support programs are already in place for united producers, including cooperatives. "Those who unite into cooperatives will be able to receive financing at 6% for drip irrigation," he added.

In addition to this, a new program with lower interest rates is being developed, which is currently under review by the Presidential Administration. If the program is approved, it will be aimed at the development of drip and sprinkler irrigation systems.

According to Idrisov, although the implementation of such technologies requires initial investments, they quickly pay off. He emphasized that investments in drip irrigation can be justified 2–3 times over the past year.

He also highlighted the need to consider various factors when installing such systems, such as soil condition, terrain relief, and the characteristics of the crops being grown. "It is important to develop a plan in advance so that water is distributed evenly and is suitable for all crops," concluded Idrisov.
