Since the first detection of HIV in the Batken region, 87 people have died.

According to data provided by the director of the Batken Regional Center for the Fight Against AIDS, Raimberdi Saliev, 87 people have died from HIV/AIDS in the Batken region.

The total number of identified cases of HIV infection since its discovery in the region has reached 386.

Of this number, 87 people were unable to cope with the disease. This year, 28 new cases have been registered, including 15 men and 13 women.

Earlier, a specialist from the Republican Center for the Control of Hematogenous Viral Hepatitis and HIV, Chynar Jumalieva, reported that by September 1, 2025, there were 14,194 cases of HIV infection identified in Kyrgyzstan.

Chui region ranks second in the number of registered cases — 3,491. It is followed by:

Osh region — 2,072;

Jalal-Abad region — 1,635;

Osh city — 1,460;

Issyk-Kul region — 586;

Batken region — 376;

Naryn region — 311;

Talas region — 222.

According to the data, there are 14 cases per 100,000 population.
