The doctor explained how series and social media at night affect sleep

According to sleep specialist Karima Magomedova, as published in RIA Novosti, the use of electronic devices and media consumption before sleep can negatively impact sleep quality. She noted that this leads to increased emotional arousal, makes it difficult to fall asleep, and disrupts the sleep structure.

“How do social media and series affect our rest? Firstly, the blue light emitted by screens suppresses the production of melatonin, which is responsible for regulating sleep and wakefulness. Secondly, the content we consume causes both emotional and cognitive arousal, making it difficult to fall asleep and potentially leading to fragmented sleep,” the specialist explained.

According to her recommendations, to create optimal conditions for sleep, it is necessary to minimize the flow of information. This implies not only reducing content consumption but also limiting communication before bedtime.
