Rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan stated that the cause of the fire was an explosion of a gas cylinder in one of the cafes. Upon the arrival of the first firefighting teams, active burning of the entire establishment was observed.
According to preliminary data, as a result of the incident, two people died, and nine injured individuals were sent to the nearest hospital, where they received the necessary medical assistance and accommodations.
The roof of the cafe collapsed over an area of about 200 square meters, and rescuers continue to clear the debris.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations clarified that the initial version of the cause of the explosion is related to violations of safety regulations for the use of gas equipment, including household cylinders. An explosion occurred in the single-story building, after which the ceiling collapsed.
At the moment, rescuers are inspecting the damaged structures and taking measures to prevent a re-ignition.
