On January 21, 2026, in Osh, Lieutenant of the police U.O.Sh., working as a district inspector at GOM-3 of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate, was caught red-handed while receiving a bribe. This operation was conducted by the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic in conjunction with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to information from the State Committee for National Security, the detainee, abusing his official position, systematically exerted pressure on foreign workers who were employed in Osh. Aware that they lacked the necessary permits, he collected monthly contributions from them ranging from 5,000 to 20,000 soms for so-called "protection." Upon refusal to pay, he threatened them with fines and deportation.
According to Articles 96 and 97 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, U.O.Sh. was detained and placed in the temporary detention facility of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Currently, the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic continues investigative actions aimed at identifying other possible participants in this crime.
