Raids by city hall employees
In the city of Osh, authorities are demanding that all signs be displayed in the Kyrgyz language. In this regard, city hall employees have begun conducting raids.
According to the municipality, on October 29, at the direction of Mayor Jenishbek Toktorbaev, members of the State Language Commission at the city hall conducted inspections of cafes, restaurants, beauty salons, and shops, as well as other public catering establishments. During the raid, explanatory work was carried out regarding the issue raised by the mayor the day before, emphasizing the importance of displaying the names of commercial entities in the Kyrgyz language.
The city hall added that similar inspections and explanatory activities will continue in the future.
