Due to the prolonged drought observed in the country, on November 28, after the Friday prayer, a special istisqa prayer will be held in the mosques of Uzbekistan—an appeal to the Almighty for rain. This event is initiated by the mufti Sheikh Nuriddin Khaliknazar, according to information from Tashkent Today.

According to Islamic traditions, this prayer is conducted by the entire community, during which believers ask for rain. In central mosques and pilgrimage sites, animal sacrifices are also planned, the meat of which will be distributed among those in need: families, orphans, widows, and the elderly.

Before conducting the Friday prayer, students and teachers of Islamic educational institutions will complete the reading of "Sahih Bukhari," a work by Imam Bukhari, which, according to local traditions, helps attract rain. Additionally, groups embarking on the Umrah pilgrimage are recommended to perform the istisqa prayer in sacred temples.

It is unknown whether this will yield results, as meteorologists predict no precipitation across Uzbekistan for the upcoming week, with predominantly sunny weather and temperatures reaching up to +22 °C.
