Famous actor of Japanese descent Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa passed away on December 4, at the age of 75. This was reported by his family representatives as well as media outlets.

The actor's death was caused by complications following a stroke. He peacefully left this world at his home in Santa Barbara, California, surrounded by loved ones.

Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa is well-known to many for his memorable roles in films such as "The Last Emperor," "License to Kill," "Pearl Harbor," "Memoirs of a Geisha," and for his role as the evil sorcerer Shang Tsung in the "Mortal Kombat" franchise. Additionally, he appeared in the popular series "The Man in the High Castle."

On social media, colleagues and fans of the actor are expressing their condolences and reminiscing about his iconic roles. Many emphasize that his portrayal of Shang Tsung became a symbol of pop culture in the 90s and 2000s for an entire generation.

In 2007, Tagawa participated in the International Issyk-Kul Film Festival, where he was accompanied by colleague Armand Assante.
