Gennady Golovkin, a distinguished master of sports from Kazakhstan, has become the president of the international federation World Boxing, as reported by Tengrinews.

Significant Achievements of Golovkin

Golovkin is the 2003 world champion and a silver medalist at the 2004 Olympics. In his professional career, he gained worldwide fame, having fought 45 matches and won 42 of them, 37 of which were by knockout. His record includes two losses and one draw. The boxer held titles from WBC, IBF, IBO, and WBA in the middleweight division, set a record of 23 consecutive knockouts, and was included in the Guinness World Records for the highest knockout percentage among middleweights. He also surpassed Bernard Hopkins' record for the most title defenses, and this year he was nominated for the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

Since February 2024, Golovkin also heads the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan.
