In a recent podcast organized by the "Kabar" agency, the mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, opened up to listeners, sharing his family moments and how he uses rare free hours to connect with his loved ones. He has four children — two daughters and two sons.
Aibek's daughters are in the 7th and 9th grades. The mayor noted that his busy work schedule does not always allow him to give them enough attention, and he tries to seize every opportunity to spend time with them.
"Before the holidays, I took two days off to take my daughters to the mountains to ski. I understood that after the New Year, there would be no free time. Recently, when they mentioned that a new 'Avatar' movie had come out, we went to the cinema together. I always try to focus as much as possible on the kids when we have such an opportunity," the mayor shared.
Aibek Junushaliev also acknowledged that working in government structures limits his time for family.
"Working in public service, of course, does not allow me to devote as much attention to my family as I would like. However, on weekends, when my granddaughter comes over, I try to spend time with her. She is only 2.5 years old, and I have realized that grandchildren evoke completely different emotions. When I spend time with her, I truly feel a sense of peace," the mayor noted.
