She was invited for questioning at the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of Bishkek
Sultan Makilov, head of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, informed the publication Vesti.kg that the ministry has initiated an investigation based on the complaint of Asel Azamatova, who previously reported incidents of domestic violence by Jogorku Kenesh deputy Eldar Sulaymanov, as well as the inaction of law enforcement agencies.
According to Makilov, Asel Azamatova was summoned to the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of Bishkek to clarify the details of her appeal, including information about whom and when she contacted with her complaint. Following this, a service investigation is planned to begin.
Makilov also noted that if the accusations are confirmed, holding the deputy accountable will be difficult due to his immunity. In such a case, the investigator will be obliged to initiate a criminal case and forward its materials to the prosecutor's office, which must then seek permission from the Jogorku Kenesh to hold the deputy accountable.
It is worth reminding that earlier Asel Azamatova shared on social media information about multiple beatings she allegedly received from Eldar Sulaymanov, as well as the inaction of the police when she sought help.
