A Resource Center for Children with Down Syndrome Opened in the City of Osh

In the southern capital of Kyrgyzstan, the city of Osh, a new center for children with Down syndrome has opened. This was reported by the press service of the city administration.

According to the provided information, the main task of the center is to adapt children to social life and provide support to their parents.



The opening ceremony was attended by the mayor of the city, Jenishbek Toktorbaev, who toured the facilities and met with the parents of children with special needs. The center was established with the support of the public fund "Santerra-South," which has already registered over 300 parents from the southern regions of the country, among whom 70 are residents of Osh.

This center conducts classes that help develop self-sufficiency skills in children, as well as provides parents with social, psychological, and informational support.

It is important to note that the building of the center, with an area of 200 square meters, was leased to the "Santerra-South" fund for five years in accordance with a bilateral agreement signed on December 11, 2025, with the Osh city administration. Necessary repair works were also carried out in the premises.
