In the village of Archa-Bulak, located in the Alay district (Pamir-Alai zone), on February 3, local hunters shot two wolves that had been regularly attacking horses. This was reported by Alimbek Aydarov, a hunting specialist from the Osh regional office of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision.

According to Aydarov, the wolves attacked mares every day, which led to the decision by local residents to cull two of the three predators. "The wolf culling season is over, and now permission to cull wolves and jackals is only possible with a special license," he added.

It is worth noting that one of the killed wolves reached a length comparable to human height.

According to current legislation in Kyrgyzstan, there is a monetary reward for the culling of predatory animals: 6,000 soms for a wolf, 1,500 soms for a wolf pup, and 2,000 soms for a jackal.

After submitting all the necessary documents, hunters can receive rewards in their personal accounts amounting to 4,800 soms for a wolf, 1,600 soms for a jackal, and 1,200 soms for a wolf pup, with taxes and contributions to the Social Fund deducted.
