A seminar dedicated to the artificial insemination of cattle was held in the Kochkor district. This was reported by a Turmush correspondent.

The event was organized by the district veterinary department, as well as by those responsible for the development of livestock, pastures, and feed.

The seminar was attended by the district akim, heads of the rural administrations, veterinary doctors, and farmers.

Specialists from the district administration presented slides illustrating the work done.

"In recent years, the number of livestock in the district has significantly increased, leading to overcrowding of pastures. This has created the need to transition to quality breeding of pedigree livestock instead of simply increasing numbers. Artificial insemination is one of the methods that allows for an increase in the breeding stock," noted the organizers.

The method of artificial insemination involves the introduction of semen from a pedigree bull into the reproductive organs of a female, which is a veterinary practice for obtaining offspring.

According to the data, active work in this direction will begin in 2025. Last year, within the framework of various projects, 233 heads of cattle were artificially inseminated. For the current year, the district administration has approved a plan to inseminate 1,421 cows, of which 36 individuals have been inseminated so far.

In the Kochkor district, semen from pedigree bulls of breeds such as Swiss, Angus, and Simmental is used. The semen is provided free of charge; however, payment is required for insemination services," the organizers added.
