Triumph of Kyrgyz wrestlers in Albania: Ernazar Akmataliev wins gold


The second ranking tournament of the season in wrestling, MUHAMET MALO–2026, has started in Tirana. On the first day of the competition, the Kyrgyzstan team managed to win a gold, silver, and bronze medal.

Ernazar Akmataliev became the champion in the weight category up to 70 kg, having gone through a tense path to victory:

In the 1/8 finals, he won against Ibrahim Ibrahimov (Russia/UWW) with a minimal advantage of 4:3.

In the quarterfinals, the athlete confidently defeated Vasily Dyakon (Moldova) with a score of 6:1.

The semifinal was tense: the match with Maiys Aliyev (Kazakhstan) ended with a score of 12:9 in favor of the Kyrgyz wrestler.

In the final bout, Akmataliev faced American Alek Pantaleo and snatched victory in the last seconds with a score of 3:2, earning him the gold medal.

Also in the category up to 70 kg, Zalkarbek Tabaldiev won a bronze medal. In the 1/8 finals, he had to compete against Rustam Kakhrov, whom he defeated to continue his fight for medals.

Additionally, Orozobek Toktomambetov, competing in the weight category up to 74 kg, reached the finals but lost to Iranian Yunes Emami (0:5), finishing the competition in second place.

The tournament continues, and the preliminary matches for the next day will begin at 15:30 Bishkek time.
