“We are the first country to choose this path”
The Federation of Shuttlecock and Lyanga was registered by the Ministry of Justice of Kyrgyzstan back in December of last year. The chairman of the organization, Bolotbek Maripov, shared his thoughts in an interview with media representatives.
In a conversation with the publication "Slovo Kyrgyzstana," he noted that this federation is unique for the post-Soviet space.
Although tournaments are held in Kazakhstan, the Caucasus, as well as in Buryatia and Tuva, no official federation has been found there. “We are the first country to choose this path to structurally develop the game and establish qualification requirements,” Maripov added.
Currently, the federation is actively developing rules and conducting training for coaches and referees. Starting in September, the Physical Culture Academy may begin teaching the specialty "lyanga," provided all necessary documents are processed.
