The Ministry of Education is digitizing school meals in Kyrgyzstan

Recently, a working meeting was held at the Ministry of Education of Kyrgyzstan dedicated to the "School Nutrition" module within the framework of the automated information system "E-Kündölük".

This event was attended by the Deputy Minister for Digital Development Lira Samykbaeva, representatives of the World Food Programme, specialists from the company "ULUT Soft", as well as employees of the Russian Institute of Industry Nutrition (SIFI), staff from boarding schools, and education management officials.


During the meeting, the functions of the "School Nutrition" module and proposals for improving its use in educational institutions were discussed to ensure it meets practical requirements.

According to officials, the digitalization of school nutrition is a key step in modernizing the education system.

Lira Samykbaeva noted that the implementation of the new module will enable more transparent and effective planning, accounting, and control of nutrition organization in schools. Digital technologies will help reduce administrative burdens and simplify the work of educational institution staff, as well as create conditions for ensuring safe and quality nutrition for children.

Based on the participants' suggestions, the following steps were identified to improve the module.

In Kyrgyzstan, about 92% of schools provide hot meals. Each primary school student is allocated 14 soms per day, while in Bishkek this amount is 22 soms, and in Osh — 15 soms.
