On April 18, spectators in Bishkek will witness the meeting of two famous boxers — John Riel Casimero and Luis Neri. This event, organized by Japanese promoter Koki Kameda, will be the highlight of the evening. The bout will have the status of a WBA Gold title eliminator, providing the winner with a chance to become a contender for the championship belt currently held by the outstanding Japanese boxer Naoya Inoue.
Luis Neri, who is 31 years old, already has experience competing in Bishkek. After his technical knockout loss to Inoue in 2024, he signed a contract with Kameda and successfully debuted in the Kyrgyz ring. His opponent, 37-year-old John Riel Casimero, was unable to secure a victory in Bishkek last year, losing to Kyonosuke Kameda; however, he made a triumphant return to the ring last December, winning in Japan.
This fight will be part of a large boxing marathon organized by Kameda's promotional company, which will take place in Bishkek from April 17 to 19. During these three days, the capital of Kyrgyzstan will become an important arena for world professional boxing.
