The deputy proposed to replace the old Kyrgyz kalpak in the London museum with a new one

He noted that the appearance of the kalpak does not correspond to the national style.

At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Tabildy Muratbekov raised the issue of the Kyrgyz kalpak displayed in the British Museum in London. He pointed out that the condition of this exhibit raises doubts.

According to the deputy, social media users express dissatisfaction, claiming that the appearance of the kalpak is outdated and does not align with modern representations of Kyrgyzstan's national identity.

In this regard, Muratbekov proposed to instruct the relevant authorities to consider the possibility of replacing the current exhibit with a more suitable kalpak that could adequately represent the cultural heritage of the country.
