The farewell ceremony for Abdykalyk Akmatov, the People's Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic and a renowned actor of theater and cinema, took place in Bishkek. The civil memorial service was held at the Toktogul Satylganov Kyrgyz National Academic Drama Theater, as reported by the Ministry of Culture.

Friends, relatives, and representatives from the state and cultural spheres, including public figures, attended the farewell.



The Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy, Mirbek Mambetaliev, noted the significant contribution of the artist to the development of the country's culture. Additionally, the President's advisor Cholponbek Abykeev expressed condolences on behalf of the head of state.

Representatives of the theater and film community also spoke, emphasizing the high professionalism and human qualities of Abdykalyk Akmatov.

The artist passed away on March 25, 2026, at the age of 71 after a long illness. He was born in 1955 in the village of Ak-Bulak, located in the Nookat district of the Osh region. He began his career in 1975 at the Osh Regional Drama Theater and later graduated from VGIK in Moscow, obtaining the profession of a film actor.

Throughout his career, he was awarded the titles of "Honored Artist" and "People's Artist," as well as numerous state and international awards.

The memory of this outstanding figure in the arts will be preserved in the hearts of his colleagues, loved ones, and fans.
