The athlete noted that she needs to first deal with several injuries that have been bothering her throughout her career.

“At the moment, I cannot specify the exact timeline for my return to the octagon. But I am still here and continue to train,” Valentina stated after her victorious fight against Weili Zhang from China.

She emphasized that sports are an integral part of her life.

“Martial arts are not just my job or career. This is my lifestyle. I am a fighter, and as long as my health allows, I will continue,” Shevchenko added.

The Kyrgyzstani athlete also commented on fans' interest in a possible matchup with Amanda Nunes, noting that this rivalry is not yet over.

“However, it is unclear whether she will return and in what form — whether it will be the full version of Amanda or not,” she explained.

Recall that Valentina has lost to Nunes twice in title fights in the bantamweight division, once by unanimous decision and the other by split decision.

On the night of November 16, Shevchenko achieved victory over Chinese fighter Weili Zhang at UFC 322, which took place in New York. The fight lasted all five rounds and ended with a convincing victory for Valentina by unanimous decision with a score of 50:45.
