The Shaitan Mazar Site (Devil's Grave). Anomalous Zones of Kyrgyzstan

Shaitan Mazar (Devil

Devil's Grave (Shaitan-Mazar)

In the Tian Shan Mountains there is an anomalous place that generates immense interest among researchers.

It is located in the Shaitan-Mazar area, which translates from Kyrgyz as "Devil's Grave." According to some reports, a UFO crashed here in 1991. There are witnesses to the disaster, but the wreckage of the spacecraft has still not been found.

On August 28, 1991, at 04:02 AM, an object was detected over the Caspian Sea near the Mangyshlak Peninsula. It measured 600 meters in length and 100 meters in height, moving from west to east at an altitude of 6600 meters and a speed of 960 kilometers per hour. The giant "thing" did not respond to the "friend or foe" query.

By order of the command of the Caspian Air Defense Zone, two MiG-29 fighters were dispatched to it, followed shortly by another pair of interceptors.

The object did not engage in hostile actions, and it was decided to force it to descend by sandwiching it. At 05:14, from a distance of 800 meters, the pilots saw green markings on the tail section of its fuselage. But when the distance decreased to 500-600 meters, the aircraft began to experience malfunctions in their engines, instruments, guidance systems, and weapon launch systems. The "cigar," having performed zigzag maneuvers, accelerated to 3200, then 5400, and finally - 6800 kilometers per hour in just 2-3 minutes!

Radar data from Baikonur, Almaty, and Bishkek completely matched. They indicated that after the forced termination of the pursuit, the strange object continued flying eastward. At 05:27, the UFO suddenly disappeared from radar in the area of Lake Issyk-Kul.

The well-known researcher Emil Bachurin organized a search expedition and headed to the crash site - the Shaitan-Mazar area. Unfortunately, snowfalls and avalanches began in the mountains, so the group returned empty-handed without reaching the area.

The military also attempted to gather what remained of the UFO. A helicopter was sent to Shaitan-Mazar for this purpose, but it crashed for reasons that remain unclear.

Despite the failures of the first group and the helicopter crash, another expedition left Almaty, led by retired military pilot Colonel Nikolai Sverchkov. In addition to being specialists in various fields, the team members were in excellent physical shape, well-equipped, skilled in mountaineering, and had undergone compatibility and behavior tests in extreme situations.

The government of Kazakhstan allocated two helicopters for the group.

On June 12, 1992, the group flew to the UFO crash site. Again, due to unfavorable weather conditions, the helicopters had to land at the foot of the ridge, where they set up a temporary camp. It was four kilometers from the camp to the Shaitan Mazar area. Over mountains. The next day, the group began the ascent despite the poor weather. As they approached the crash site, the people began to experience strange sensations: feelings of anxiety, fatigue, and even depression.

Moreover, the air was filled with static electricity to the extent that their hair literally stood on end.

When they got within 1.5 km of the object, the researchers tried to determine the azimuth and dimensions. But the instruments showed completely unrealistic results. The quartz generator also malfunctioned. The electronic watches stubbornly displayed zeros on the dials, while each mechanical watch showed its own time. Even the compasses seemed to have gone mad.

Attempts to measure the magnetic field from 800 meters away from the UFO also ended in failure. The magnetometers indicated that there was no magnetic field present. Incidentally, the rock samples taken near the object also showed complete demagnetization. Of course, scientists were interested in what could have caused the demagnetization, but they never found an answer. There was one hypothesis that the UFO became a source of a large amount of energy that neutralized the magnetic field.

They were unable to take video and photographs of the object, as the film ultimately ended up being overexposed.

Six months later, in June 1992, this time Kazakh ufologists attempted to search for the alien spacecraft. The group of enthusiasts was led by retired Major Gennady Svechkov. On June 12, an enormous silvery spindle-shaped object, torn in half, appeared before the astonished members of the expedition. But all attempts to get closer than 800 meters ended in failure. Although there was no excess static electricity in the atmosphere, for some unknown reason, people's hair stood on end.

Electrical devices burned out. The magnetic needles of compasses even at one and a half kilometers took unnatural positions. The rock samples were demagnetized. Both mechanical and electronic watches stopped...

According to the expedition members, the UFO had collided at high speed with a sharp edge of rocky terrain. After which it began to slide across a flat area, evidenced by a trail 1.7 kilometers long. The explosion occurred in the central part of the fuselage. Apparently, the crashed UFO became a mass grave for the entire crew.

Another question that troubled the researchers was: where did this object come from? Quite realistic hypotheses were put forward that the UFO was actually a balloon using nuclear fuel. Or was it a failed launch of some cutting-edge space device?

But those who believed in UFOs were not satisfied with such explanations. Experts continued their search in the Tian Shan mountains.

Strangely, against the backdrop of rumors, the mass media did not touch on this topic at all, as if there was a ban on it.

In 1998, seven years after the disaster, a ufological expedition led by journalist Nikolai Subbotin again set out to the site of the incident. However, the researchers were in for an unpleasant surprise. The only reminder of the events seven years ago was a two-meter crater left after the explosion. There were no wreckage or even a hint of them.

As for the instruments, they all operated in normal mode, as if denying the events of 1991. Scientists suggested that the military had been here and had meticulously cleaned the crash site. Only from the air were lines visible, very similar to runways, but now carefully camouflaged with neat rows of stones.

Moreover, on one of the cliffs, a dent could be discerned, which had arisen from the collision of the UFO with a rock.

Upon returning from the expedition, Subbotin met with Emil Bachurin, who had visited the area shortly before him.

Emil Bachurin, in an interview taken in May 1998, reported that a month earlier (in April) he had visited the crash site, made sketches, and tried to take photographs. He suggested that the aircraft exploded upon contact with the ground. This was evidenced by the mangled fuselage and the details of the frame, reinforcements, and internal partitions sticking out from the fuselage. A severe dent and cracks were visible in the nose section.

Evidently from the collision with the mountain surface. In the breaches of the vessel's hull, decks, supporting structures, and various equipment were clearly visible. The film, just like in the case of Sverchkov's expedition visit to the crash site, ended up being completely overexposed. No photographs of the ship could be taken.

His observations once again confirmed that upon landing, the alien spacecraft exploded, as its fuselage was mangled, and some internal elements seemed to have been turned inside out.

But there was again no confirmation of these words; the film was overexposed. Apparently, even then, radiation was emanating from the object. The only evidence of the existence of radiation were burns on Bachurin's hands.

Subbotin and team members made several flights in a helicopter and took pictures of strange straight lines, remarkably similar to landing strips. It led to the conclusion that the military had been at the crash site and had removed everything from the wreckage.

Some ufologists believe that it is quite possible that the wreckage was removed by a search and rescue expedition of aliens. It is difficult to establish the truth. However, almost as always, when it comes to unidentified flying objects...

But what was the alien spacecraft doing in the Tian Shan mountains remains a mystery to this day. What were the aliens searching for in this area? Their landing base? And why did the aircraft crash? Perhaps it was all the fault of the Shaitan-Mazar area, which has long had a bad reputation among the locals?

Who knows, perhaps the answer to all these questions lies in the underground bunkers of Kapustin Yar.
