PM2.5 refers to solid particles that are smaller than 2.5 microns, which is 30 times smaller than the diameter of a human hair. They include various particles such as dust, ash, soot, as well as sulfates and nitrates present in the air. These substances contribute to reduced visibility, which is typical for large cities.
As of 16:00 on November 9, Bishkek ranks 19th in the world air quality ranking.
