According to information provided by Aida Karabaeva, the official representative of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan, the banks' loan portfolio has reached 460 billion soms, which corresponds to a growth of 35%. This data was announced on the air of Birinchi Radio.
Karabaeva also noted that the deposit portfolio shows a similar trend, having increased by 35% to 804 billion soms. The largest share of deposits and loans is in the national currency.
In recent years, there has been a significant decrease in dollarization in the banking sector. If in 2022 the share of loans in foreign currency was 22%, it has now decreased to 18%. A similar situation is observed with dollar deposits, which have decreased from 45% to 34% over the same period.
The representative of the National Bank emphasized that this dynamic indicates a growing trust from both the population and businesses towards the som and the banking system as a whole.
