In Kyrgyzstan, the southern regions continue to lead in the level of housing insurance. This was reported by Aktan Turumbekov, the director of the Insurance and Reinsurance Department of the State Insurance Organization, in an interview on Birinchi Radio.
According to him, residents of the southern regions take home insurance more seriously due to frequent natural disasters.
According to the provided data, the level of insurance coverage is as follows:
- Jalal-Abad region — over 38%,
- Osh region — 33%,
- Batken region — 27%,
- Talas and Naryn regions — 29% each.
- At the same time, the figures in the northern regions are significantly lower:
- Bishkek — about 25%,
- Chui region — about 20%.
He also added that since last year, a government decree has come into effect, according to which any real estate transactions require mandatory home insurance.
“We believe that this decree has contributed to the increase in figures in Bishkek, as the capital accounts for the majority of buying and selling transactions,” emphasized Aktan Turumbekov.
